UNDER THE EAGLE RESTAURANT, FEBRUARY 17, 2007

“Thirty-five years and going strong” is how proprietor Terenia Peczeniuk describes her hole-in-the-wall landmark on Joseph Campau, Hamtramck main drag.  This unassuming, folk-art-filled restaurant is a homey and comfortable as any spot in town and the solid Polish fare is served by an affable staff of Polish immigrants, appropriately dressed in embroidered costumes.

Favorites abound, so the best bet is the combo plate, which includes pierogi, sauerkraut, kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes and a blintz.
