Dubai Filming with Mr. Ned Fawaz, CEO, Energy International

Filming in Dubai with Mr. Ned Fawaz, Detroit’s own personal Ambassador to this ever developing economic wonder in the Middle East was exciting.

Yes, Dubai is all that you see and hear and more.  But, for me spending time with one of our most important and respected Arab American leaders was more enjoyable than a walk on Palm Island with Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Mr. Fawaz’s approach to life and his community, as well as his family, is very much out for all to see; an experience when you’re around him.

Mr. Fawaz’s company, Energy International, has been his entrée into the business world in Dubai.  His brother, a semi-retired psychologist, hosted a wonderful dinner in his home after my interview with Mr. Fawaz.

The two-day trip captured so many facets from the spice souks to the fish souks.  From the old world of trading on what is called The Creek to the new Dubai.  It’s one of the most pedestrian friendly cities, especially with so much going on.

When the idea was presented for me to travel to Dubai for 2 days of filming, I was hesitant with so much going on.  It would have been a huge mistake had I not gone.  I look forward to going back.
